How to Properly Maintain Quartz Resin

Since quartz resin is made by mixing stone and resin, its surface is extremely hard—similar to granite—yet smooth and non-porous. The pattern depends on the texture of the stone used in the manufacturing process; coarser fragments produce a speckled appearance, while smoother fragments result in a more uniform color pattern. Additionally, adding different pigments during production allows for a variety of colors.

Since quartz resin doesn’t require frequent maintenance, some people say it is maintenance-free. However, you should still perform routine maintenance on quartz resin; generally, use warm soapy water to clean kitchen countertops. If you spill something, you should clean it up as soon as possible; although quartz countertops are stain-resistant, this does not mean that quartz resin will never develop stains—especially when spills are highly acidic or left to sit.

Although quartz resin is very hard, avoid cutting food directly on the surface without a cutting board, as this can scratch the surface. Also, avoid scraping sticky substances off the countertop; if you need to remove gum or paint, use a plastic scraper to gently scrape it off. If you find oil stains on your countertop, use a cleaner containing a degreaser, as these are less corrosive to quartz resin.
